Besides demonstrating the exercises, we cover the following topics:
~Some exercises that are indicated and contra-indicated for pregnancy.
~Pain prevention during pregnancy, including joint pain and lower back pain.
~How the hormone “relaxin” affects exercise during pregnancy. God has created our bodies so wonderfully well! Although it is not really known for sure how it works (God knows) the hormone known as “relaxin” is thought to soften the connective tissue to allow for joint expansion of the pelvis of the pregnant woman in preparation for childbirth. This is why it’s common for pregnant women to feel really flexible during pregnancy. Use CAUTION when stretching for this reason during pregnancy.
WholyFit is different from other types of exercise because we use M.A.T. (musculo-neural activation technique) to make sure that the joint is STABLE, not just FLEXIBLE. In this way, during stretching, we can be sure to stretch the belly of the muscle, and not the joint.
